Should I be a District Governor -2 Project Ankara programme - Turkey

Funded by the Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Civil Society Relations, "Should I be a District Governor-2" project is being implemented by Turkish Association of Governors in cooperation with TIAV (Turkish Administrative Research Foundation). 

Vocational introduction seminars were held at the universities planned within the scope of the project. On the other hand, university students, who were chosen by lottery among the applications received based on the announcement made on the website of the Association, were invited to Ankara. A cultural tour was held with the participants who arrived in Ankara on 29 July. Within the scope of this trip, Anıtkabir, Anatolian Civilizations Museum, Independence Museum and National Library were visited. Information was obtained about the historical and cultural richness of the capital Ankara.

On 30 July, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin received the delegation headed by President Saffet Arıkan Beduk. A conversation meeting was held about the duties and responsibilities of the governorship.

After the governorship, Çankaya District Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara was visited. District Governor Buhara informed the participants about District Governor's activities and efforts to combat Covid-19.

In the afternoon, the program continued at the Ministry of Interior. In the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Interior, President Saffet Arıkan Beduk gave a speech on his life and professional experiences. Later, the Editor of the Manager's Voice Magazine, Assoc. Dr. Selim Çapar made a presentation on "State and Civil Administration".

All of the events held on Friday, July 30th had a question-answer section. Participants had the chance to learn the answers to their questions on any subject they were curious about.

Upon the request of the participants, a visit to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey was organized. Veteran Assembly was visited under the chairmanship of Chairman Saffet Arıkan Beduk and accompanied by a guide. The program ended with the dinner held at the Ministry of Interior.
